The HMA is established
2013
The migration of Grade R’s and Grade 1’s from Masjid to House.
2013
The successful registration of HMA with: - AMS Association of Muslim Schools - Gauteng Department of Education
2016
The Academy takes part in its first IEB examinations
Phase 1 is completed and the HMA moves into the new building , equipped with 12 beautifully furnished and spacious classrooms and a 1900 m² play area
2017
Building commences on Phase 2 of the HMA
2017
The new phase takes shape
2018
The Academy grows with 12 more state of the art fully functional classrooms , a dedicated pre-preparatory area , a stunning 2600 m² multi purpose sports field and a seated embankment where assemblies and awards ceremonies have been hosted
2019
A fully fledged library is added to the Academy's list of facilities
2019
Houghton Muslim Academy recieves full accreditation with Umalusi
2019
The HMA is now a member of The Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa.
2020
Amidst a global pandemic which saw many schools scramble to find new ways to engage learners remotely, Houghton Muslim Academy took to online teaching in a systematic manner which saw learners and teachers make use of the Microsoft Teams platform.
